I’m so glad the format works! I was really worried because I wanted to share more about what I read but I couldn’t commit to long-form writing about every single book!
I hope you find a new book to add to your liked list!
Well, of course I love this list! Lots of new-to-me authors here. I still have Blue Light Hours at the top of my to-read list from when you wrote about it before. Been waiting for the library to get a copy, but thinking I might just have to go ahead and buy it at this point! Thank you for the nudge :)
(Incidentally: I love the idea that you suggest reading if you're interested in the subject of 'daughtering' rather than 'mothering'.)
Oh Kate, I really do hope you get to Blue Light Hours and love it! When I went to the launch event for it with the author, she mentioned this question of daughtering and it has stuck with me! I think the book will be a lovely complement to your mothering interests and I can’t wait to hear what you think of it!
(alternatively, another book that falls into this category is Jessica Au’s Cold Enough for Snow, though I have a much softer spot for Blue Light Hours!)
A really tempting list of recommendations! I'm slightly ashamed to say that having read plenty of Magic Realism, I've never read one of Ocampo's books. Time to put that right!
I love the "read if" recommendation model! I am so curious about this list, thanks for the recs!

Definitely going to prioritise these!
Oh these all sound so wonderful! Thank you! I’ve added a couple to my reading list. We need more posts like this.
Thank you! I hope you enjoy some new authors!

I have a sense that Ocampo was overshadowed by many around her, including Borges (a friend and collaborator) and Adolfo Bioy Casares (her husband).
I love this list Juliana!! WIT month should be every single month.
Truly! Thank you, Martha!
Great selection of books to explore. Happy International Women's Day in advance 🎈🎈
Thank you!
I've been wanting to read this Ocampo collection for a long time. But these all sound great! Especially interested in Space Invaders.
Ocampo is such an interesting author! And Space Invaders is a favorite of all times.
First Wife was good. I read & reviewed it for Women in Translation month.
